When choosing a Daikin air conditioner, it is worth starting with the type of indoor unit, then choosing the right output, and only then comparing features and design. Daikin offers several series, which differ mainly in appearance, noise, efficiency and features.
Type of indoor unit
- Wall-mounted – the most common choice for flats and houses.
- Floor-standing – installed low near the floor, suitable for example in an attic or under a window.
- Cassette – built into a suspended ceiling, distributing air in several directions; common in offices and shops.
- Ducted – hidden in a suspended ceiling, with air distributed through ducts; suitable mainly for new builds and renovations.
Output
Choose the output according to the heat load of the room, not the largest model in the range. You will find details in the article What air conditioner output do I need? What it depends on.
Energy efficiency
Air conditioners are rated with the seasonal indicators SEER (cooling) and SCOP (heating) and an energy class. The higher the values, the less electricity the unit uses for the same output. We explain what they mean in the article Air conditioner energy class: what SEER and SCOP mean.
Noise
For a bedroom, choose a model with a low indoor unit noise level at the lowest fan speed. With the outdoor unit, think about the neighbours too. Noise data can be found in the manufacturer’s technical data sheets.
Filtration and air quality
The individual Daikin series differ in the type of filters. If filtration matters to you, compare specific models using the manufacturer’s data – we will be happy to explain the differences.
Control and comfort
- control through a mobile app on selected models,
- timers and weekly schedules,
- quiet and night modes,
- presence sensors on some series.
Design
If the air conditioner is in a visible place in the living room, appearance may also be decisive. In addition to standard white units, Daikin also has more design-led series.
Recommendation
Choose a specific model only after assessing the room. We check the current range of series against official Daikin data. You will find an overview of the series in the air conditioner catalogue. See the range of Daikin air conditioners or write to us and we will recommend a suitable model.
